Tight or torn muscles can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. Physical therapy can address and stretch what is tight, and strengthen and stabilize what is weak. This decreases pain.
Physical therapy sessions will usually consist of 40-45 minutes of stretching and strengthening exercise. This is followed by 15 minutes of hands-on manual work where Dr. Mandy Kirk performs a combination of therapeutic massage, passive stretching, triggerpoint release, and myofascial release.
